Gimmie 5

Tanner is 5 years old now...yep that is right. 

I feel the way every mother before me did and say "where did the time go?!"

 For his birthday breakfast, he chose eggs with cheese, grits, bacon, sausage, and apple juice.

The boys were a little tired, because we had to wake them so Kenny could get to work a little earlier that morning.

 Tanner got to open his gifts...snow boots,

 snow pants, and coat.  He was very excited!

 Kenny's aunt gave the boys an old race track, so we saved it for Tan's b-day...the boys love it!

 Tanner got to choose what we did all day...he chose to ride bikes at the park, watch a movie at home, play games, and play with toys.

Kenny had a long day and a lot of homework, so didn't come home until late.

We went out to the city for some car repairs, so we found a super-fun place to celebrate with Tanner.

We had an all-you-eat pizza buffet and arcade/game place...Tannner loved it!

 Tanner actually drove the bumper cars all by himself!

What happen to the days when he needed his mom? 

Oh well, Prego people aren't allowed to do any of the fun stuff anyway!

 The boys were a huge fan of the virtual reality roller coasters/race tracks.

 Tanner and Dad on the racetrack.  I had to give Kenny a hard time for coming in second.

 Kenny had to ride the go-carts twice, since pregos aren't allowed on that either! 

I think I hurt his ego the first time, and his competitive nature made sure he got first place the second ride!

 There were tiny balls, little lanes and tiny pins.

 We took Tanner out and got him a new bike!

He is in love, and I have to take him everyday to ride it.

 As you can see Jack got the old one. 

We put the training wheels back on, and Jack was so cute!  He wouldn't ride for very long, before he would say, "This is too hard, I need a break."

Tanner's favorite haven't changed much this year.  He still loves blue, the fair (especially the demolition derby), race cars, and riding the four-wheeler.  This year I would add riding his bike to the list though.

His accomplishments and firsts include, riding a jet ski, he is beginning to sound out words, and he is very social.

When Tanner grows up he want to be a builder/construction worker.

This is what childhood is all about, right?!

 ...ohh wait, this is what being a Dad is all about?

 ...and, being a mom?

 I guess this is what being a grandpa and a dog is all about, too!

Maybe there is a little kid in all of us!

Halloween

As most of you know...I love to sew! 

I asked Tanner what he wanted to be, then I came up with a plan to sew it. 

One problem...I got pretty sick!

 If it wasn't for my mother-in-law, I would never have finished it on time!

Tanner is Swiper the Fox.  He had a great plan to take everyone's candy if they didn't say, "Swiper, no swiping!"  Luckily, he felt a little shy when the time actually came to preform...that might have caused some problems.

 Jackson was my cute little Jack-O-Lantern.

This is the guy that might actually swipe your candy!  When someone would put a bowl of candy in front of him (trunk-or-treating), he would take as many as possible.  He got tired fast though.  I asked him, "What do you say (trying to prompt, trick-or-treat), and he said, "I'm bored!"  He just wanted to sit down and start eating!

 ...what??...everyone's kids don't eat the guts that come out of their pumpkins??!

I guess some people just have some wierd kids!

Sadly, I didn't do too well with the camera this year, but we had a really great time!  We had a preschool party, a church carnival, and a trunk-or-treat.  We now have too much candy....what's a prego-lady to do?

Good Riddens...

...this has been a miserable and LONG weekend.  It was one of those times that I missed my family so much, and wished we lived closer!

Our whole family has been sick for about a week now.  The boys have been almost over it, but I was worse than ever.  Kenny didn't feel too well either.

I had a lot to accomplish Saturday!

I made the boys a promise to go to the pumpkin patch and I felt that I couldn't back out.  So, we went and enjoyed the fall holidays, best as I could!

 By Saturday night, I was completely spent and I knew I had overdone it!

 Sunday morning, we stayed home from church and Kenny and I took turns sleeping and watching the boys.  I feel so lucky to have such a helpful husband!

 We even did some fall activities...but by Sunday night I had almost no voice left.  I am hoping that this week is much easier.  Especially since I got no sewing done, and I have to make a costume for Tanner by Tuesday night!   YIKES!

 A couple of these pictures magically appeared after one of my naps and they made me smile!

A quick baby update...I am 23 weeks, and still not too uncomfortable.  My baking baby boy seems to be doing really well, and squirming all over the place!

Little Monsters

I love Halloween, but I always seem to overload myself!

I love to do stuff though, and I hate to say no!

I try hard to find moments to enjoy the holiday with the boys.

For FHE we put together some really cute candy monsters.

Jack made one, then he just wanted to spend the rest of the night trying to scare us.  He had no interest to make anymore.

Tanner and Dad started a really effective assembly line, and mass produced many monsters!

 Someone had to control this monster!

Kenny finally finished two major papers!  They have been hovering over our whole family for weeks.  He said that they were the toughest thing he has done so far, and we are SO glad to have that behind him!

7.5 weeks until Kenny's Christmas break!!!

September Preschool Memories

This year I have a real Preschool room, a partner-in-crime, and 15 cuties!

Look at all these cute little boys!

 That would be my awesome preschool partner, Bridgett.

 What a bunch!  We are having a lot of fun.

Tanner is loving preschool.  He is such a cute boy, and I am going to die when I have to send him off to kindergarten next year.  He is quite excited about the idea himself.

Jackson is still struggling.  I think it is hard to have it in his own home, with his mom, but I am hoping things will get better.  Jackson is really bright though, and I love watching him learn!
