Things every child must learn!

We took Jackson on his first tractor ride. It was a really cool day for September, but we all decided to venture out into the tractor.

Notice that Kenny and the boys are sitting to the side so that means yours truely was driving. I always feel pretty proud of myself when I can use the tractor.

Gotta love the du-rag! When you have short hair it is a necessity to keep the hair out of your face.

Anyone who lived with me during or after my mission will appreciate this one...

"Children, why do we eat bread?""So, we can have butter!""And Children, why do we eat cake?"

"So we can have frosting!"

I had started setting the table and when I went to put something else there, I caught Tanner eating the butter straight out of the tub. I guess I taught him well! When I gave him a cupcake the next day, he ate the frosting off and asked for another one.

This picture just goes to show you that amiss all the chaos, there are some perfect moments in our home of boys!

Jackson's Blessing

Jackson was blessed on Aug 24th by his Dad. It was such a wonderful day. A lot of planning went into the occation, and it was all worth it. I am so grateful to be his mom, even if I don't get very much sleep these days.












Some of my family got to come into town for the celebration. My Mom and step-dad flew out on Friday. We had a fun time together. Tanner loved his cousin Autumn. She was so good to play with him. She even taught him a thing or two about fashion. Notice the new picture of Tanner to the right as well!

My mom, and husband are such good sports. I came up with a great idea to make a cake to celebrate Jackson's big day. It didn't really go as I planned, but they sat up half the night helping me fix my mistakes. I love you guys!!

Jackson is a lucky boy. He was blessed with amazing Grandparents. He is really soaking up the attention here. My step-dad missed picture time. Sorry!

One of the things that made this weekend so special was getting to spent time with some of our family.

Thanks to all who made this day extra special. We love you all!! We also missed those who couldn't make it. Jackson espially missed Aunt Kim, Uncle Ryan, Aunt Stephanie, Aunt Randi, Uncle James, Uncle Michael, Aunt Laura, Brendon, Carmen, Nolan, Aria, Little girl #3, Riley, Hailey, Sydney, Carley and all his great-grandparents!

We will make lots of fun memories in the future though!

Jackson Reed Stansfield

Our newest little boy was FINALLY born on Thur, July 17, 2008! He was a big boy at 8 lb 8 oz. He had just as much hair as big brother did when he was born. It is so nice to finally have him here. Now I just need to learn how to take care of two little boys at the same time. So many people have done it before me, but it still seems a little impossible!

Jackson is really a good baby. He is pretty patient and he even sleeps pretty well at night. We love having him here and getting to know him.

Happy Fourth of July!

Well, tomorrow is my due date and still NO BABY! I decided that I had better find some constructive things to do, or I am going to start getting really depressed. So, I will say happy 4th to everyone. We had a really fun day. Tanner had his first experience with a kiddie pool and he loved it! In this picture he is saying "Hi Mommy."

We had a BBQ, and then set off some fireworks. The local communities did their own shows, but I didn't feel much like getting out. We had a lot of fun doing our own anyway. Tanner thought the sparklers were great. Grandma just had to make sure he didn't grab at them with his other hand. Anyway- I hope you all had as great a holiday as we did! Hopefully, my next post will be about our cute little new arrival!!

A week and a half to go!

The countdown has begun! I am getting really excited to have a little baby and to be done with pregnancy. I am sure we will have quite an adjustment with two little boys, but anything beats this! We have 12 days to go. I wanted to post a picture. I know it is not the best, because I am not turned all the way to the side- but it's all I have. It is from about a week ago. Tanner is even learning how to take care of babies. We had six little lab puppies (there are only four left). Here he is taking one for a ride. We are still working on the being soft part. I have been told that babies are tougher than you might think. I sure hope it is true! Though I am not sure how our bundle of joy will like a tractor ride.

We finally planted our garden! It took us all day yesterday, but we had a really great time. Tanner thought playing in the dirt was wonderful, and, if you notice, He got into the mud a little bit. All this work better pay off. If we still have a plot of empty dirt come fall, I think that i will be done!
I am rather large these days (only 4 and half week to go!), so I cut potatoes while Kenny and his Mom did the real work. That is who you see in the pictures. Of course the lovely animals too, Calle the cat and Molly the dog.

Goodbye snow and hello sun!

We just got back from a really fun trip to CA. It was the first real vacation that we took with Tanner (with the exception of trips to Bama to see my fam). It was so relaxing when we weren't trying to keep up with CA drivers and/or getting lost. Here is a run down of the fun...

We flew out on Thursday. Tanner wanted to make sure we didn't forget him. He loved packing, but did a little too much unpacking!

On Friday, we went to the birch aquarium. Tanner loved it! He learned how to say fish, and of course he is always up for splashing in the tide pools. We went with Kenny's sister and her family.

After the aquarium, we headed to the beach. I love the Beach! It has been about three years since I have seen one. I would guess that this was Tanner's favorite spot as well.

He hated the water, but he loved the sand! He threw it, rolled in it, put it in his hair, put it on his cousin sydney, and even put his face in it to lick it! Then, he would come crying to mommy with his tongue sticking out, covered in sand. It was so funny.




Here he is, after about an hour and a half of frollicking in sand. It was EVERYWHERE!!

Kenny tried boogie boarding and got pretty good at the end. He will need to practice that one a little more. Maybe in another three years when we actually see a beach again!

The whole reason we went to CA was for our nephew's baptism. He was baptised on Saturday. We had a luncheon in the park beforehand, and the only things Tanner wanted for lunch were pop and playground equipment.

On Sunday, Kenny had a cousin who blessed her baby, and we able to go attend that. We flew back home on Monday. It felt short and I didn't want to come back, but I guess you have to get back to really life eventually. I sure am grateful for fun little trips though, and it was great to see family.
